Peter Baum

Real Estate Analyst

Peter Baum provides real estate advice and counsel to Gro clients, helping them to determine if they are in the right location and where they should focus their investments and attention. Among the tools he uses are GIS mapping and data analysis, which he supplements by meeting with clients on-site and touring potential future locations with them.

With a bachelor’s degree in urban studies from the University of Minnesota, Baum next earned a master’s degree in urban and regional planning at UM’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. He concentrated his graduate work in land use and urban design, and is very much at home with data and maps. “I love to solve geographic and spatial puzzles,” he says. “It’s great to marry the art and the science together.”

Baum doesn’t hide his passion for his work and the people he serves. “It is refreshing to me to have clients who consistently work to make their associations, and more importantly their communities, better,” he says. “There’s no wondering what their motivations are. They are in the role they’re in to do great things – and it’s contagious.”

With so many variables and moving pieces in real estate, as well as organizational needs, he remains flexible in his work and the counsel he provides. “Everything will change a million times,” he says. “I’m very happy not overthinking these things.”

What are Baum’s long-term goals? “I’d like to continue the trajectory that I’m on,” he says, adding that he wants to spend more time with clients, sharpening his skills at meeting their needs.
