Edmond, OK
The benefits of taking a holistic look at needs and opportunities cannot be overstated.
So when the Greater Oklahoma City YMCA organization, with two existing and popular facilities, looked at where people lived and worked, a third location began to take shape. The Gro real estate team provided an analysis that helped Y leadership determine this third location, in Edmond, Oklahoma, would make sense.
What made even more sense was to enroll the city of Edmond and its municipal library system as co-location partners. This added books and learning to the full slate of exercise (cardio, weights, aquatics), mixed-use, and conference rooms in a new, 72,000-square-foot facility – a partnership that not only expands programming but also provides access to financial resources.
Gro’s architecture and design capabilities created the schematic design and construction documents for this remarkable community hub. Both the Y and the library will benefit from this exciting new structure. And instead of being underwater the municipal funding combined with local philanthropy puts this Y on solid footing from the moment it opens its doors in early 2026.
