Madison Seagren
Interior Design Project Manager
Madison Seagren has a long history of what she calls “creating experiences for others,” accomplished with one version of design or another.
Once a retail visual merchandiser, she also worked in wedding planning before landing in interior decorating and a hobby that she calls “furniture flipping” – basically, working with found vintage décor pieces that she refashions into elements that are inspired by high-end design furniture.
Now an interior design project manager with Gro, she works with the floorplans from project architects and then designs the finishes, facings, furniture, and graphics. “I apply all the color and life that go into them,” she says.
True to the YMCA movement, she revels in the tangible impact that this delivers to the communities that the Y serves. In particular, she considers the children who use the facilities she designs because of a family connection. Her young brother, who is on the autism spectrum, attends a daily after-school program at his local Y. “He has grown and learned so much through them,” she says. “I love that when I’m designing spaces I get to think of him and kids like him and how they would use the spaces.”
A thrifter and crafter, she loves creative challenges, continuous learning, and having her boundaries pushed. “Luckily, there’s really no cap to what you can learn about design,” she says.
